Terms & Conditions
Last updated July 2026
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Equine Intimate Health Federation website (the “Site”) and the professional register (the “Register” or “directory”). By using the Site or applying for membership, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About the Federation
The Equine Intimate Health Federation (the “Federation”, “we”, “us”) is a not-for-profit membership body that promotes standards, awareness and professionalism in equine intimate health. We set membership standards and maintain a public directory of members. We do not provide equine intimate health services ourselves.
2. Membership
Membership is open to practitioners who meet our requirements, including a relevant qualification or recognised equivalent, current insurance with an annual certificate, and a commitment to ongoing CPD. Applications are reviewed by the Federation, and we may approve, decline, suspend or withdraw membership at our discretion. Members must comply with the Federation’s policies at all times to obtain and maintain a listing. Membership does not create any employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship between the member and the Federation.
3. Members are independent businesses
Every member is a separate, independent professional or business, wholly responsible for their own work. The Federation does not employ, engage, control, supervise, direct or carry out the services that members provide. Members are solely responsible for their own services, standards of work, insurance, pricing, contracts, invoicing, tax, health and safety, and compliance with the law.
Any booking or contract for services is made directly between the horse owner (or their agent) and the individual member. The Federation is not a party to that contract and has no involvement in it.
4. The Register
The Register is provided to help horse owners find members. Listings are based on information supplied by members. While we take reasonable care, we do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, current or available, and we do not verify every detail on an ongoing basis. Inclusion in the Register is not a recommendation, endorsement, warranty or guarantee of any member, their qualifications, their insurance or the quality or outcome of their services. Owners are responsible for making their own checks and decisions before engaging a member.
5. No liability for members’ services
The Federation is not responsible or liable for the acts, omissions, advice, conduct, services or work of any member. You engage a member at your own discretion and risk. Any concern, dispute or claim relating to a member’s services is a matter between you and that member.
The Site and the Register are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Federation excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including direct, indirect or consequential loss) arising from or in connection with your use of the Site or the Register, your reliance on any content, or any dealings with or services provided by a member.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
6. Veterinary care and safe practice
Members work within clear professional boundaries and in line with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966. Members provide hygiene and welfare-monitoring services only, and do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Where a member is unsure or suspects a potential abnormality, they advise the owner to seek a veterinary referral. Nothing on the Site, and no service provided by a member, is a substitute for veterinary advice. If your horse is unwell or you have any health concern, consult a veterinary surgeon.
7. Members’ obligations and removal
Members must keep their listing accurate, hold and evidence current insurance, comply with the Federation’s policies, and represent their Federation membership honestly. We may review, suspend or remove a listing, and end membership, where a member does not meet these requirements or brings the Federation into disrepute.
8. Use of the Accredited Member logo and our content
The Site content, the Federation name and branding, and the Accredited Member logo belong to the Federation. The Accredited Member logo may be used only by current members, only while their membership is active, and only in line with any guidance we provide. You may not copy, reproduce or use our content or branding without permission.
9. Using the Site
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, or attempt to gain unauthorised access. We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Site at any time, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.
10. Data protection
We handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law. Details submitted for a public listing will be shown on the Register with the member’s consent.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page, and your continued use of the Site or Register means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to the Federation office by email.
